“Goka-no-ChyayaHonjin”
The day before, I crossed the Usui Mountain Pass that was a long road, therefore I felt my muscles in my legs burn that day. The walking pace was very slow and the frequency to rest was very high, therefore I could not go along with my plan. So I had to change my plan. I arrived in Goka, Matsui-Jyuku at last after about 2 hours from the start of the morning. I wanted to sit down and rest, but I could not find a suitable place. I went to the front of the Goka-no-ChyayaHonjin, but the gate was closed because it was the day off. It could not be helped, I sat down in front of the guide board by side of the gate and rested. The Goka-no-ChyayaHonjin was a house for high ranked travelers to rest in the Edo Era, and is specified as a historic site in Gunma Prefecture. I wanted to rest for a long time because it was a very fine day. I commanded my muscle to work hard after a bit of rest. And I started to walk again in order to avoid someone’s distrusts.
