“DARUMA-JI” Temple

I crossed Usui-gawa river by walking on the Hanatake-bashi bridge after diverging from Route 18. I continued walking toward the center of Takasaki City. When I suddenly realized, I discovered a big mascot beside the road with Daruma-ji written on it. My eyes searched to look if there were any things near here by and then I found an entrance of a temple. And there were three temples after entering the gate and going up the long steps. I entered Daruma-do, one of the temple halls, and there were a lot of Daruma dolls of various sizes from small ones to big ones in the temple hall. A Daruma Doll is one of the lucky charms for Japanese people. There are many home settings for the Daruma Doll in new year. I said to myself, “Let’s walk quickly, because it is an auspicious day today!”
