Old Road “Kumano-Kodo”

An old road from EDO-era along which many people went to KUMANO Shrine to pray are KUMANO-KODOU. The old road is signed up as a World Heritage site. The grass was cut and there is maintenance for the old road as well. Therefore, it is not difficult to walk along the old road. Canes were available at the entrance of the old road from the access road. I was glad they welcome visitors. I took a cane and I used it, then it was easy for me to walk up and down the hill on the old road. I took a photo with a flag at the exit to the access road. The flag seemed to advertise the World Heritage Organization. I did not meet anybody during the walk probably due to coronavirus pandemic. But I imagined the old road would have been crowded with people in the EDO-era.
