“HASHIKUI-IWA” Rocks
There was a signboard of “EKINOMICHI HASHIKUIIWA” service area after 20 minuets walking from the KIIHIME station. I went to the seaside by walking through the parking lot and through the side path of some food courts and souvenir shops. Then, I could see many big rocks which were like the pillars of a bridge standing in a line. “HASHIKUI” means the pillar of a bridge. There were a wide tidal flat by the land side of the pillar rocks, luckily, there were no sea water at that time. There were a lot of big rocks scattered at the tidal flat. I heard that this beautiful and dynamic view was caused by a Tsunami due to an earthquake. How mysterious and interesting the long-term change of the terrain is! I would like to continue to watch the change of the terrain if I could live for a billion years.
